In April 2020 RKE BioGroup UK aquired the Herriard Bio Power Anaerobic Digestion Facility.
The plant was commissioned in 2013 and is located in Herriard, near Basingstoke in the United Kingdom.
Anaerobic digestion is a natural biological process, currently allowing us to treat over 40,000 tonnes of food waste and organic materials.
Converting it into over 10 million kWh of clean, green energy every year – enough to power 3,500 homes – as well as supplying farmers in the region with thousands of tonnes of premium fertiliser. The food-waste input helps to divert 40,000 tonnes of waste from land-fill each year. The biogas created from the process is then converted into green heat & electricity for export to the electricity grid.
